It was upon viewing the devastation of Katrina in the fall of 2005 that Charlie realized how unprepared he was should a natural disaster, fire or burglary strike his home. After numerous conversations with family, friends and business associates, Charlie realized he was not alone. Although all had expressed the desire, and a few had started the process of performing a home inventory, not one had completed the overwhelming task. In early 2006, the McDermotts sold their interest in their health club business to focus solely on Safe Box Inventory. "I spent 22 years helping tens of thousands of individuals improve their quality of life through our health club chain. Barb and I are thrilled to be involved in a new business, (Safe Box Inventory), that allows us to provide a similar "quality of life" service to the public.", commented Charlie McDermott. SafeBox™ has been successfully serving the needs of homeowners in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Its success on the east coast has enabled SafeBox™ to venture into the Los Angeles, California market. The SafeBox™ PA, NJ and CA territories are owned and operated by the McDermott's and Fred Greenberg, a prominent Pennsylvania attorney. The McDermott's live in West Chester, PA and Los Angeles, CA with their three children. Their oldest child, Charlie is an actor who has worked alongside William Hurt, Bryce Howard and Joaquin Phoenix in "The Village" and is co-starring with Kris Kristofferson in "Disappearances" a film scheduled to be released this year. So that you'll know who to expect on your "Boxing Day", we've put together a short biography of each of our SafeBox™ Specialist. Once your "Boxing" is scheduled, we'll send you the name of your Specialist.
After a long career invested in various marketing & sales endeavors, Deb decided to wrap her passion for helping peopletogether with her business acumen when joining the SafeBox™ Team. When Deb isn’t busy Boxing (That’s providing home inventory services, not hitting!), she can usually be found volunteering her time assisting one of the multiple volunteer groups that she is involved with. One close to Deb’s big heart is the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). Over the pastthree years, Deb has provided countless hours of water training instruction to challenged athletes competing in the CAF San Diego Triathlon Challenge. As if the training support wasn’t enough, Deb hosts an annual Women’s golf outing to raise money and awareness for CAF. Deb is also a board member of Chester County Women, and is very active in the Rotary Club, Exton Chamber of Commerce & Dress for Success. Two days a week from 5-9AM Deb runs a swimmers clinic at a local aquatic facility. For fun and relaxation Deb trains in Martial Arts, a practice she has continued for 19 years!
Barb, co-owner and V.P. of SafeBox™, operates the company along with her husband Charlie. Barb is an elementary school teacher with a passion for directing and choreographing musical theater productions. Her resume also includes being a group fitness instructor for the past 17 years, managing 5 health clubs with husband Charlie and raising three kids. Barb enjoys motivating others to be proactive when it comes to their health. SafeBox™ follow this same way of thinking and Barb enjoys providing clients this peace of mind service.

In 1984 Charlie McDermott, Founder of Safe Box Inventory, Inc., opened his first business during his senior year in college. Over the next 22 years, he and his wife Barbara grew their Pennsylvania based health club business into a $12 million enterprise with over 10,000 members and a staff of 350.
